  • CO: Cast On

  • C6F (Cable 6 Front): Slip next 3 sts onto CN and hold in front, K3 from left needle, K3 from CN.

Step-by-Step Written Pattern

1. Back Panel

Using US 6 (4.0 mm) needles, CO 86 (96, 106, 116, 126, 136, 146, 156, 166) sts.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm, ending with a WS row.

Switch to US 7 (4.5 mm) needles and work in Cable Panel repeat across row until Back measures total length. BO all sts.

2. Front Panel & Cut-Out Neckline

Work Bottom Hem as for Back Panel.

Work Cable Panels until work measures 15" / 38 cm. Divide work for the V-shaped outer cable overlap while leaving center sts held on a stitch holder for the inner crew neck collar.

Continue working right and left cable wings independently up to shoulder length.

3. Sleeves (Make 2)

Using US 6 (4.0 mm) needles, CO 44 (46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60) sts. Work 1x1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm. Switch to US 7 (4.5 mm) needles, centering a 24-st cable panel down the sleeve, increasing 1 st at each end every 6th row until reaching 76 (82, 88, 92, 98, 102, 108, 112, 118) sts. BO all sts.

4. Inner Crew Neck Collar & Assembly

  1. Sew shoulder seams.
  2. Pick up center held sts and pick up additional sts along inner neckline curve with US 6 (4.0 mm) 16" circular needles.
  3. Work K1, P1 ribbing for 1.5" / 4 cm. BO loosely.
  4. Fasten outer V-shaped cable edges along shoulder points for the cut-out effect.
  5. Sew sleeve and side seams using mattress stitch.

Blocking & Finishing Protocol (Alpaca / Mohair / Wool Blend)

  1. Weave in Ends: Secure all ends carefully on the WS.
  2. Halo Activation & Steam Blocking: Lay flat on blocking mats. Hold steam iron 2 inches (5 cm) ABOVE fabric without pressing down. Allow steam to relax cables and open up the fluffy alpaca/mohair halo. Leave to cool completely.
