Blocking & Finishing Protocol (100% Premium Acrylic)
Since Ice Yarns Gonca is a 100% Premium Acrylic yarn, proper synthetic blocking will relax the stitches and enhance drape without crushing the ribbing structure:
-
Weave in Ends: Secure all yarn tails on the wrong side using a tapestry needle.
-
Light Steam Blocking (Recommended for Acrylic):
- Pin the sweater flat on blocking mats according to the Size Chart measurements.
- Hold a steam iron 1.5 to 2 inches (4-5 cm) ABOVE the knitted fabric. NEVER touch the iron directly to the acrylic yarn, as it will melt the synthetic fibers.
- Direct gentle steam across the body, sleeves, and raglan lines. Allow the sweater to cool and dry completely before moving.
