Step-by-Step Written Pattern
1. Mock-Neck Collar
Using US 7 (4.5 mm) 16" circular needles, CO 84 (92, 100, 108, 116, 124, 132, 140, 148) sts. PM for BOR and join in the round.
Work K1, P1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm.
2. Upper Yoke & Diamond Lattice Section
Switch to US 8 (5.0 mm) circular needles.
- Rnd 1: *T2B, T2F; repeat from * around.
- Rnd 2: *P1, K2, P1; repeat from * around.
- Rnd 3: *T2F, T2B; repeat from * around.
Work Diamond Lattice for 12 rounds while placing raglan increases.
3. Textured Sampler Bands (Body & Sleeves)
After yoke separation, proceed down body in bands:
- Vertical Ribbing Band: Work 1x1 Ribbing (*K1, P1*) for 3" / 7.5 cm.
- Moss Stitch Band: Work *K1, P1* alternating on RS/WS for 3" / 7.5 cm.
- Large Diamond Trellis Panel: Work 8-row Diamond Trellis repeat for 6" / 15 cm.
- Bottom Hem: Switch to US 7 (4.5 mm) needles, work 1x1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm. BO loosely.
4. Sleeves (Work Both Alike)
Reattach yarn to held sleeve sts. Work same textured bands down arm. Switch to US 7 (4.5 mm) needles for 1x1 ribbed cuff. Work for 2.5" / 6.5 cm. BO loosely in pattern.
Blocking & Finishing Protocol (Wool & Acrylic Blend)
- Weave in Ends: Secure all ends neatly on WS.
- Steam Blocking: Lay sweater flat on blocking boards. Hold steam iron 2 inches (5 cm) ABOVE fabric without pressing down. Allow steam to relax wool fibers and smooth out sampler texture transitions. Leave to cool completely.
