Merinos Light, consisting of 60% merino wool and 40% acrylic yarn is a great combination for warmth and strength for winter garments. The wool also makes the garment lighter by weight than 100% acrylic would. The dark purple as seen on my computer screen looks more maroon, but is actually a dark grape purple. Plans for a crocheted winter shrug later this year.
