Step-by-Step Written Pattern

1. Back Panel

Using US 9 (5.5 mm) needles, CO 54 (60, 66, 74, 80, 86, 92, 100, 106) sts loosely.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm, ending with a WS row.

Switch to US 10.5 (6.5 mm) needles. Work in Stockinette Stitch (Knit RS, Purl WS) straight until piece measures 20 (20.5, 21, 21.5, 22, 22.5, 23, 23.5, 24)" / 51 (52, 53.5, 54.5, 56, 57, 58.5, 60, 61) cm.

BO 16 (18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29, 32, 34) shoulder sts at the beg of next 2 rows. Place center 22 (24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38) neck sts on a holder.

2. Front Panel

Work hem and body as for Back Panel until piece measures 3" / 7.5 cm less than Back.

Divide work for neckline: work across left shoulder sts, work RS decreases along neck edge 3 times, work straight to shoulder height, and BO shoulder sts. Repeat symmetrically for right shoulder.

3. Collar & Armhole Edgings

  1. Join shoulder seams using mattress stitch.
  2. Collar: With US 9 (5.5 mm) 16" circular needles, pick up sts around neckline including held front and back sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3.5" / 9 cm. BO loosely.
  3. Armhole Trims: With US 9 (5.5 mm) needles, pick up sts along armhole edge. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1.25" / 3 cm. BO loosely.
  4. Sew side seams and armhole band edges together.

Blocking & Care Protocol (Wool & Acrylic Bulky Blend)

  1. Weave in Ends: Secure all ends neatly on the WS.
  2. Steam Blocking: Lay flat on blocking mats. Hold steam iron 2 inches (5 cm) ABOVE the fabric without touching the yarn directly. Allow steam to relax curling and shape the standing funnel collar. Leave to dry completely.
