Step-by-Step Written Pattern
1. Back Panel
Using US 10 (6.0 mm) needles, CO 48 (54, 60, 64, 70, 76, 82, 86, 92) sts loosely.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm, ending with a WS row.
Switch to US 11 (8.0 mm) needles. Work in Stockinette Stitch (Knit RS, Purl WS) straight until piece measures 21 (21.5, 22, 22.5, 23, 23.5, 24, 24.5, 25)" / 53 (54.5, 56, 57, 58.5, 60, 61, 62, 63.5) cm.
BO 14 (16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28) shoulder sts at the beg of next 2 rows. Place center 20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36) neck sts on a holder.
2. Front Panel
Work bottom hem and body as for Back Panel until piece measures 3" / 7.5 cm less than Back.
Divide work for neckline: work across left shoulder sts, work RS decreases along neck edge 4 times, work straight to shoulder height, and BO shoulder sts. Repeat symmetrically for right shoulder.
3. Sleeves (Make 2 Alike)
Using US 10 (6.0 mm) needles, CO 24 (26, 26, 28, 28, 30, 30, 32, 32) sts for cuff. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2.5" / 6.5 cm.
Switch to US 11 (8.0 mm) needles. Work in Stockinette Stitch, increasing 1 st at each end every 6th row 11 (11, 13, 13, 15, 15, 17, 17, 18) times to 46 (48, 52, 54, 58, 60, 64, 66, 68) sts.
Work straight until sleeve measures full length, then BO all stitches loosely.
4. Ribbed Collar & Assembly
- Join shoulder seams using mattress stitch.
- With US 10 (6.0 mm) 16" circular needles, pick up and knit sts around neckline including held front and back sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1.5" / 4 cm. BO loosely.
- Align sleeve centers with shoulder seams and sew flat into drop-shoulder armholes.
- Sew continuous sleeve underarm and side seams.
Blocking & Care Protocol (Wool & Acrylic Blend)
- Weave in Ends: Secure all ends neatly on the WS.
- Steam Blocking: Lay flat on blocking mats. Hold steam iron 2 inches (5 cm) ABOVE the fabric without touching the yarn directly. Allow steam to relax curling and set the drop-shoulder seams. Leave to dry completely.
